Preakness Stakes winner Rachel Alexandra and Kentucky Derby champ Mine That Bird both hit the track at Churchill Downs Wednesday morning. The three-year-olds galloped at the historicracetrack.
Rachel Alexandra galloped for a mile in her initial work since becoming the first filly in 85 years to capture the Preakness Stakes. Scott Blasi, chief assistant to trainer Steve Asmussen, said Rachel Alexandra would stand in the starting gate before she gallops on Thursday. She will go to the track around 7:15 A.M. (et). The filly is scheduled to work on Monday, May 25.
Mine That Bird was playful during his Tuesday trip to the track.
